My Meaning, My Memories

Its strange when you see where life takes you.
My parents taught me this mantra when i was very young. I somehow got into the habit of saying it atleast once or thrice before sleeping every night. just a very very simple ritual, stayed on for years. I remember being the last person to sleep in the night, even when i was young. used to give my dad a glass of water, wish my parents goodnight and remind everyone to say the mantra. just a family ritual, silly little thing which stayed on for years.

And then i grew up. Was an insomniac back then also. Studying late became a norm class 9 onwards, and i started sleeping long past everyone else in the house. and the thread of those 'goodnights' and ' gayatri mantra zaroor karna' just melted away.

Miss it sometimes. Specially these days when im away from my family. Insomnia is back again, and night pass restless. Feel like need some thing to calm me down before i sleep. Sadly, the habit is long gone, now that i need it the most. Still chant it if i cant sleep for long, but its just not the same. Maybe its something to do with the fact that it was not just praying, it was something i did with my family.

Aum Bhur Bhuvah Svah
Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi
Dhiyo Yoh Nah Prachodayat

Translation:

Aum, the celestial sound that resounds in our body, over the earth and the cosmos up to the gates of heaven.
The effulgence of the rising sun that sets all living things to their allocated tasks to strive to achieve their aim in life
May the dazzling light which is the gift of the God illuminate our beings. Let us contemplate on it so that our minds
gain enlightment.

just realised....

I might appear as an annoying bright pink to people mostly [ which i am] too painful to be around. nice to see if youre down...

but then also realised i would be very ok being a Grey. Just being.

Try and make sense if you can, im not bothered. It just a thought which came to my head...
